The 2009 Eisner Award Nominees
Very happy to see Fables nominated for Best Continuing Series. It won Best New Series back in 2003, but this is it’s first nomination for the biggy. The last year’s storylines “War and Pieces”, “The Dark Ages”, and the epilogue “Waiting for the Blues” were epic and deserve to win.
It’s also great to see Amy Reeder Hadley receive three nominations for her work on Madame Xanadu. Her work is luscious.
Sorry to see House of Mystery didn’t really get any nods, though Bill Willingham received a Best Writer nomination for his work on it and Fables. I think it may be burning a little too slowly to get a big nomination on its own just yet.
