A Caribou Man

Sorel Logo of a Lean, Dangerous-Looking Polar Bear This week—this winter—has proven again that Wellies are just fine from May to August for, say, cleaning the barn or a taking a walk after a thunderstorm.

But if you live in the Upper Great Plains, from September to April you must have a pair of Sorel’s Caribou. If you should find yourself, say, fighting a record flood during a blizzard, ice fishing in 2”-6” of surface water, or doing anything outside when the air temperature is approaching forty below, (these events tend to happen here on occasions of relative frequency, and have a primal beauty that attracts and keeps me here. But June really is lovely, really.) you will thank me for taking this advice.

Accept no substitutes! If the boot does not feature the lean, dangerous-looking polar bear you hold an inferior knockoff likely to cause extreme distress at the most inopportune moment. Believe me and let my misfortune be your guide.
