Lord of the Rings: Reread

Over at Tor, Kate Nepveu is leading a reread and discussion of The Lord of the Rings.

Kate links to diverse and thoroughly considered opinions and essays as she develops her commentary. It reminds me of the “Folkroots” column from the recently departed Realms of Fantasy in this respect.

There is an active group following along and commenting. Kate is very active in the comments, which I appreciate and respect.

If it has been a while since you’ve read LotR, now is a great time to do so in the company of others. If you’ve never read it, what are you waiting for? (For what it’s worth, I recommend getting a multi-volume set in paperback if you’re going to follow along. I personally find all-in-one and hard cover editions clumsy for this kind of reading.)
