Super Easy, Super Good Stir-Fry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp vinegar (I prefer balsamic, but any will work; rice is more authentic)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp oil (I prefer olive, but canola is fine; peanut is more authentic)
  • 1 minced clove garlic

Optional:

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce

or

  • 1/3 cup citrus juice (orange or lime are best)
  • 1 tsp grated citrus peel (use the same as the juice)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients.
  2. Add to vegetables over heat (after they have defrosted, if necessary).

If stir-frying over charcoal grill, just tossing the vegetables with the oil and a little salt and pepper before grilling creates a more kabob and less asian effect.
