Sad, but Inevitable

Rolling Stone is switching from tabloid to magazine size to be more “rack friendly”. *snicker*

The tabloid size has been as much the Rolling Stone brand as barely relevant album reviews and their bold, red typeface.

Computerworld, my favorite trade rag, went through this a year or so ago. To be honest, the format change wouldn’t have been so bad if their website didn’t suck (ironic for a magazine dedicated to the IT world; it’s the corporate IT world, though, so I guess it isn’t that ironic). RS’s web site is OK and much more topical than their semiweekly publication.

Still a sad day.
