Time Flies

I just realized that there are only a dozen I haven’t seen of the “102 Movies You Must See Before…” list. I might be able to see them all before the end of the year! Wow.

I’ve been increasingly devoted to crossing each off the list since critic Jim Emerson published it waaay back in 2006.

Here’s a list to show you what starting this list has done to me:

• 2006 - 16
• 2007 - 18
• 2008 - 23
• 2009 - 27 (so far, hopefully 39 before all is said and done.)

I’ll write more about this great undertaking later. I just wanted to share my excitement right now!

Update: I’ve seen something like 60 movies this year total! Wow, that seems like a lot for someone who isn’t really a movie aficionado or critic, just a guy who likes movies. Hmmm, maybe seeing this many films makes me an aficionado by default, whether or not I label myself that way? I don’t think I can be considered a cineaste by any means, though.
